Why ride Onion Creek?
More than two dozen creek crossings and red walls closing in. A desert route with a sense of humor.
Onion Creek is Moab showing off without demanding a professional off-road rider’s résumé. The trail slips between striped canyon walls, crosses the creek again and again, and keeps changing character before the scenery has time to become wallpaper. Fisher Towers and the La Sal Mountains handle the background work.
This is a playful, confidence-building ride for beginners, families and experienced riders who still remember how to enjoy an easy trail. We tune the bike and pace to the group, pause for the best canyon views and leave the pointless rushing to people with somewhere less interesting to be.
Creek depth and trail conditions change with weather, so this route remains conditions dependent. If Onion Creek is not riding well, we will contact you and move the departure to the strongest suitable alternative.
